Being called a Woman of Power used to create all sorts of feelings in me. I'd push it back with indignation, thinking that I had to be humble as a woman and not bragging. That was the old me.
I had learnt a lot since then and developed a sense of self that is anything but powerless. It wasn't a walk in the park though. My beliefs about my worth and what was valuable about me that I had grown up with were challenged big time.

When you hear the phrase woman of power, do you think it applies to you? Or do you think it's in the realm of others, somewhere you will never be able to go?
Maybe you even think that being a woman of power is bad.
Dirty.
Unbecoming of a woman.
It wouldn't surprise me the slightest. Those women who are uncomfortable with their own power will admonish those who are. Whether out loud or silently in their thoughts, but they will do that.
It's a natural, human reaction to someone else having something we desperately want but believe we don't deserve it or even wanting it makes us a bad person.
- What's your inner voice when it comes to power situations?
- When the opportunity arises to assert your power, how do you react?
- Do you takes it by the short and curlies and make the most of it?
- Do you shrink back with complete freak out and hand the power over to someone else?
- Do you pretend it's not happening and then judge the woman who took the opportunity you know you secretly wanted?
