If you're waiting for your confidence to magically appear, download, arrive, make itself known to you before you decide that you want to be seen and heard, you'll be waiting a long time.
If forever is something you can hold out until, you'll be fine. If you want to be seen and heard sometimes in this century or even your lifetime, you might want to rethink the signs you're waiting on.
There is no road sign that will show you that you have finally arrived to a point where you deserve to be seen and heard. Don't hold your breath for some great epiphany either.
If you've been trying to decide whether or not you're experienced enough, thin enough, articulate enough, educated enough, or just enough in general to grab some visibility space for yourself in the big bad online world, you've been asking the wrong questions.
Because being seen and heard is about none of that. Let me tell you what it IS about then.
You will know you're ready to be seen and heard, even if it scares the shit out of you when one or all of the three things below apply to you.
1. You have something to say that's not parroting someone else
When talking about the stuff other people talk about, the way they talk about them. When you can offer something unique to your audience that's not a digested, repainted, remixed content of someone else.
You learn your craft and practice it and you start developing your own way of doing things and you add a bit of this and a bit of that to create something that's not a carbon copy of someone else's work.
You have an overwhelming desire to share with others the wisdom you have gathered, your own special mix of "the thing you do".
2. You're sick of only ever reaching friends and family with what you say
When you post your content on whatever platform and the only people reacting to it are your mum, your mum's best friend and your ex, it can frustrating AF.
When you get to the point that you want to scream because you're just not breaking through that circle of friends and family with your "thing", you know you're ready for more.
Even if the thought of being seen by people you don't know, fills you with dread, you are ready to be seen and heard.
3. Your desire to create transformation is bigger than your fear of failure
This is the biggie. And really the most obvious signs of being ready to be seen and heard. Because visibility is not about being fearless. Fearlessness is a myth that coaches try to sell you their $$$ programs with.
When the drive inside you to create transformation around you is so strong that you get dizzy when you think about it, it's practically the Universe hitting you over the head with a shovel.
Regardless of where you want to create transformation and on what scale, your ability to create visibility for you and what you do will determine the size of the transformation you can achieve.
Those who do nothing will fail at nothing but will also achieve nothing. Those who do act, fail, learn, evolve, become resilient.
When you answer the call of your soul, there is no room for inaction. That call overrides fear and you make a move towards more visibility.
